It is an yearly championship played by the 6 best teams in the Americas: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, United States and Uruguay.
The format is the same of the european Six Nations and it is played in the same period.

It was preceded by the Pan American Championship, played by Argentina, Canada, United States and Uruguay.
This tournament, though, was irregularly played and it was discontinued after only 5 editions.
